Of all the treatments on the 2026 menu, radiofrequency (RF) microneedling may be the one people talk about most. Morpheus8 is the best-known name, but many clinics offer similar devices. The appeal is easy to understand: it targets the look of firmness and texture on the face, jawline and neck, with less downtime than surgery.

Here’s what to expect after a session, the aftercare most providers recommend, and the daily routine that supports your results between treatments.

What RF microneedling does

RF microneedling pairs fine needles with radiofrequency energy delivered beneath the surface. It is often used for skin laxity, texture, the look of pores and acne scarring, and it’s popular for the lower face and neck, two areas where everyday skincare alone can only do so much. Most people book a series of sessions spaced weeks apart, and the visible changes develop gradually over the following months.

The first days after Morpheus8

Expect your skin to look flushed and feel warm and tight, a little like a sunburn. Some people see pinpoint marks or mild swelling, especially around the jaw and neck. Your provider will tell you what is normal for your treatment and how long it typically lasts.

What providers usually recommend

  • Use only the products your provider gives you or approves for the first days.
  • Keep skin clean with a gentle, fragrance-free cleanser and lukewarm water.
  • Skip makeup until you’re told it’s fine.
  • Avoid heat (saunas, hot showers, intense workouts) for the period your provider suggests.
  • Stay out of the sun, and sleep on a clean pillowcase.

What to pause

  • Retinoids, vitamin C, exfoliating acids and scrubs
  • Anything fragranced or tingly
  • Other in-office treatments, unless your provider has planned them together

If anything feels wrong or worries you, call your provider. They know exactly what was done and how your skin should respond.

Sun protection: the non-negotiable

Newly treated skin is more sensitive to UV, and sun exposure is one of the fastest ways to undo the even, refined look you’re after. Once your provider says you can apply sunscreen, make a mineral SPF the last step every morning. Our Daily Mineral Shield SPF 30 is a 100% mineral, broad-spectrum SPF 30 with an iron-oxide tint, made to be suitable for sensitive and post-procedure skin. For more on why mineral SPF matters after energy treatments, see our microneedling, laser and peel aftercare guide.

Your between-sessions routine

RF microneedling is a series, not a one-off. The weeks between sessions are where your daily routine does its work: keeping skin hydrated, comfortable and looking firm, so you walk into each appointment with your skin at its best.

Once your provider says your skin is ready, we suggest a routine that covers both the face and the neck, because most people treat both.

For the face

Smooth Radiance Face Treatment: a weightless daily treatment with Supplamine® anti-glycation technology and soothing bisabolol. It layers easily under SPF and makeup.

For the neck and chest

Décolleté Treatment Advanced Formula: made for the thinner, more delicate skin of the neck and décolleté, an area that shows dryness, crepiness and lines early and is often overlooked in daily routines.

Every morning

Daily Mineral Shield SPF 30, on the face, neck and chest.

Why glycation matters for firmness

Collagen and elastin give skin its firm, bouncy look. Glycation, the process where sugars bind to those fibres, makes them stiffer and less springy over time, and the skin looks less firm and less luminous as a result. It happens every day, quietly, between your treatments.

MEG 21 is built around Supplamine®, a complex that helps interrupt visible glycation on the skin’s surface. In a MEG 21 study, skin showed +35.4% firmness and a −44.2% area of lines & wrinkles.

In an 8-week open-label study of an original MEG 21 Supplamine® formula, conducted by a contract research organisation.

It’s not a substitute for RF microneedling. It is the daily layer that complements it. Read more on our science page, or explore everything inside each formula on our ingredients page.

FAQ

What should I put on my face after Morpheus8?

Only what your provider gives you or approves in the first days, usually a gentle cleanser and a simple hydrating product, followed by mineral SPF once you’re allowed.

When can I go back to my normal routine after RF microneedling?

It depends on the depth and area treated. Many people wait several days before reintroducing products, but always follow your provider’s timeline and start with the gentlest products first.

Does skincare help Morpheus8 results last?

Skincare can’t replace the treatment, but a consistent routine with daily SPF supports the look of your skin between sessions.

Can I treat my neck at home between sessions?

A dedicated neck and chest product, such as the Décolleté Treatment Advanced Formula, is a simple way to give that delicate area daily care between treatments.
